Week 8 Tight End Streamers For Fantasy Football: TJ Hockenson & More

Jorge Martin uncovers the tight end streamers for fantasy football in Week 8.

Published

Hello Week 8, we’re almost halfway to the fantasy championship week. How’d that happen? We’re also heavy into bye weeks, and that means George Kittle, Isaiah Likely and Juwan Johnson are leaving your starting lineups this week. It being Halloween week, does that leave you scared? Not to worry, we’ve got you covered.

Let’s get into some streamers. As always with tight ends, we’ll mine the fantasy football rankings for players outside the top 12. Make sure to check out our fantasy football projections to get further confirmation why these players are targets. Lastly, all stats versus each position group listed below are from our wonderful DvP tool and any utilization data came from our UR Score.

Tight End Streamers for Week 8

Dallas Goedert | Eagles at Commanders

With DeVonta Smith’s balky hamstring limiting him to suiting up only once in the past four games, other pass catchers need to be considered, especially when going against the Commanders.

Dan Quinn’s defense is second in most FPG allowed to TEs. Goedert had 17 targets in the two games prior to taking on the Cowboys in Week 7 on Monday Night Football. If no Smith, Goedert is an automatic play.

T.J. Hockenson | Vikings at Lions

The TE22 in our ROS rankings, Hockenson takes on the team that originally drafted him. He’s usually good for 4 or 5 targets per game—he did have a high-water mark of 13 in Week 4—so he’s been consistent. The Lions have allowed 4 TDs to TEs in the past two games. Will Hockenson add to that total?

Hunter Henry | Patriots at Dolphins

Henry was featured in this space last week, and delivered 7-71-0. As the TE25 in our ROS rankings, he’s not a must start. But the matchup with the Dolphins—No. 3 in most FPG allowed to TEs—is solid. With Romeo Doubs on IR, targets are open for Henry in a great passing offense. A.J. Brown will figure out how to catch the ball again, but there will be targets left over for Henry.
