Last-Minute Week 5 Fantasy Football Lineup Advice

We have a mess of injuries to sift through this morning (and a potential trade percolating).

Here are all of the key spots to monitor…

Ashton Jeanty - Jeanty missed practice on Friday with a new foot injury,and then the team elevated RB Roman Hemby yesterday from the practice squad. Jeanty says he’s hopeful to play, but I’d keep Mike Washington Jr. on standby. He’d be a very strong start and DFS play if Jeanty sits.

Bengals WRs - Both Ja’Marr Chase (concussion) and Tee Higgins (adductor) are questionable for today. If either of them misses, Mike Gesicki becomes a Top 10 TE play this week.

Vikings WRs - Similar deal for Justin Jefferson (ankle) and Jordan Addison (hamstring). My hunch says both of these guys go (Jefferson does not want to miss his Louisiana homecoming game), but if not, T.J. Hockenson will feast again.

Commanders WRs - Stefon Diggs has already been ruled out, and Terry McLaurin (hamstring) is questionable. I think McLaurin goes, but regardless, I love Antonio Williams as a sneaky spot start this week if you are hurting at WR.

Chargers WRs - Quentin Johnston (chest) is already ruled out, and Ladd McConkey (foot) looks like a game-time decision. My gut says Ladd sits here, and Tre’ Harris becomes a very strong WR3 play (the Broncos will be without Patrick Surtain today).

Other spots worth mentioning:

  • Rico Dowdle (toe) is unlikely to play today again, which means the Jaylen Warren bellcow gravy train can continue.
  • Speaking of Steelers, Michael Pittman is headed to IR. Roman Wilson (a solid Week 5 FLEX play) and Germie Bernard (a good season-long stash) should be plucked off waivers if they haven’t been already.
  • George Holani is questionable, Jadarian Price is on IR, Zach Charbonnet is not quite ready to return, and Joe Mixon failed his physical. It’s Emanuel Wilson time.
