Carson Beck Fantasy Football Outlook With The Arizona Cardinals
One of the most likely teams to draft a QB in the 2026 NFL Draft just did exactly that, as the Arizona Cardinals drafted Miami QB Carson Beck with the No. 65 overall pick.
While Jacoby Brissett is set to man the QB1 position (for now), Carson Beck could have some appeal in fantasy (specifically dynasty) if things break right. Or would he? Let's dive in.
Carson Beck Fantasy Football Outlook With The Arizona Cardinals
While it was fully expected that the Cardinals would address the QB room, it's hard to see a world where Beck is anything more than a backup/injury fill-in for current QB1 Jacoby Brissett, and it feels increasingly likely that the Cardinals will run it back in the 2027 draft and address the QB position.
With a decent room of pass catchers and now a generational talent in the backfield, Beck could be a deep-league streamer in the off-chance that he starts any games this season, but it's hard to even get excited about that potential.
Should You Plan to Draft Carson Beck this year?
TL;DR ... Beck no (HA!). Even in dynasty leagues, it's hard to get behind a QB prospect that Freedman (more below) describes as a career-long backup, and Ian Hartitz's top player comp is a less mobile Kenny Pickett.
If you want to spend a Round 3/4 rookie draft pick on Beck in a superflex league if he's there, be my guest. But I certainly will not be doing that.
2026 Scouting Report For Carson Beck
Beck checked in as the QB4 in Matthew Freedman's NFL Draft QB Rankings, as he stated:
"Beck did yeoman's work in his lone Hurricanes campaign, leading an ascending program to a championship game (3,813 yards, 30 TDs, 12 INTs on a 72.4% completion rate). At 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, he's a big, rhythmic pocket operator who wins with brain, base and ball placement. But he's old for a rookie—a sixth-year senior—and this year he was less polished than you'd want. He's at his worst under pressure, outside structure and on late-down deep throws: shoulders open, base narrows, balls sail. His Kyle McCord comp captures it. Most likely outcome: a competent-but-common career-long backup."
