NFL DFS Tournament (GPP) Plays For Week 9: Malik Willis, Javonte Williams & More

Week 9 of the NFL season is here. There are 11 games for us to break down for this Sunday's NFL DFS main slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. I'm going to break down the NFL DFS GPP plays that I like on this slate.

This could be a QB and receiver stack that I like, a sneaky RB in a good spot, or a standalone WR/TE. The goal here is to find players who will be under 10% owned. Getting different with these players allows you to get to safer and higher-owned pieces across the rest of your lineup.

Let's dive into it!

DraftKings and FanDuel NFL DFS GPP Plays For Week 9

Jordan Love - GB QB ($6,300 DraftKings, $7,800 FanDuel)/Matthew Golden - GB WR ($7,000 DraftKings, $6,800 FanDuel)

To start GPP plays, I love getting to this Packers stack against the Patriots. Jordan Love leads the NFL with 2,246 passing yards and 16 touchdown passes, and last week he went 30/41 for 288 yards and a season-high 3 touchdowns against the Panthers. New England has allowed the sixth most yards per attempt over its last five games, and Cornerback Marcus Jones is questionable for the Patriots.

Matthew Golden is the receiving piece I like most. He was limited by a shoulder and foot injury, but played and caught 7 of 13 targets for 79 yards and a 24-yard touchdown, even with some drops. The targets are there, and he is a big-play threat. Christian Watson was limited in practice, and Josh Jacobs had just 39 yards on 21 carries, so this offense is going to run through the passing game. The Patriots are favored, which should have the Packers playing from behind here.

Javonte Williams - DAL RB ($7,300 DraftKings, $7,700 FanDuel)

Next up, I like getting to Javonte Williams against the Colts. He has 134 carries for 528 yards and 8 rushing touchdowns, and has scored in six of eight games. Last week was a bad one, as he had just 56 yards on 24 carries against the Cardinals, but that came the week after a career-high 155 yards and 6.2 yards per carry against the Eagles. He still played 74% of the snaps and has a lock on the Dallas backfield, averaging 19.3 touches per game. The matchup is a great one against a Colts defense that ranks 27th against the run and has given up 33 or more points in four of their six losses. Dallas is a road favorite in a game with one of the highest totals on the slate. I love getting to him at low ownership.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba - SEA WR ($9,300 DraftKings, $9,500 FanDuel)

On to the Seahawks, where I like getting to Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He is the best receiver in the NFL, with 64 catches on 89 targets for 985 yards and 9 touchdowns through eight games. That is the second-most receiving yards through eight games in the Super Bowl era, and he has gone over 100 yards in seven of eight games. Last week he caught 6 of 11 targets for 118 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Bears. Sam Darnold has been ruled out, and Drew Lock is questionable, but this offense has played without Darnold before.

When Lock started against these same Cardinals in Week 2, he went 19/26 for 235 yards and 3 touchdowns, and all three went to JSN, who caught 9 passes for 155 yards. Seattle is a big home favorite, and it could be a game where they lean on the run, but a player this good is almost always worth a GPP look.

Malik Willis - MIA QB ($5,100 DraftKings, $6,500 FanDuel)/Malik Washington - MIA WR ($4,700 DraftKings, $5,700 FanDuel)

To end off my GPP plays, I'm going to look at a Dolphins stack. The Lions have been the most favorable matchup in the NFL for quarterbacks, as every quarterback to face them has scored at least 16.96 fantasy points. Malik Willis completed 21/32 passes for 211 yards, 2 touchdowns, and an interception in the loss to the Patriots, and he has thrown two touchdowns in each of his last two games after having just two touchdowns and four interceptions in his first five. He has rushing upside as well, with a rushing touchdown against the Jets in Week 7.

Malik Washington is the receiver to pair him with. He had 5 catches on 6 targets for 40 yards and his first touchdown of the season last week, and has led the Dolphins in targets in five of seven games.
