DraftKings NFL DFS Picks For Seahawks vs. Bears MNF Showdown Slate

Matt LaMarca breaks down how to build your DraftKings NFL DFS showdown lineups for Week 8's MNF tilt between the Seahawks and the Bears.

After one of the worst SNF games of the year, the NFL bounces back with an elite Monday Night Football contest. We have a potential NFC Championship preview between the Seahawks and Bears in Seattle. The Seahawks are listed as 3.5-point home favorites, while the total sits at 46.5 points.

Seattle has dealt with a bit more adversity this year than in last year’s championship-winning campaign. They’re currently just 4-3, and Sam Darnold has not looked nearly as good as he did last season. However, the team still has the best yardage differential in the NFL, and they’re coming off a demolition of the Chiefs last week. This is ultimately still one of the best teams in the league, and they could be about to get on a roll.

Meanwhile, the Bears have taken off with Caleb Williams back in the lineup. He has played at an MVP level when he’s been in the lineup this season, and he’s led the team to back-to-back wins over the Falcons and Patriots. The offense has been one of the best in football with Williams under center, setting up a fascinating matchup vs. the Seahawks' vaunted defense.

Let’s dive into some of the top DraftKings NFL DFS picks for Monday Night Football.

DraftKings NFL DFS Spend-Up Picks For SEA vs. CHI Showdown Slate

Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($12,000 Flex, $18,000 Captain)

As far as the fantasy producers in this matchup go, it’s Smith-Njigba and then everybody else. JSN has somehow been even better this year than he was last season. He’s had 100+ receiving yards in all but one contest, and he’s racked up eight touchdowns in his first seven games. He leads the league in both receiving yards and touchdowns, and he’s leading the league in yards per touch for the second consecutive season.

No one combines volume and efficiency quite like Smith-Njigba. He’s taken on a massive role for the Seahawks, racking up 37% of the targets, 51% of the air yards, and 45% of the end zone targets so far this season. It’s resulted in an average of 28.0 PPR points per game, which is tied with Jahmyr Gibbs for the best mark in fantasy. Puka Nacua ranks second at the receiver position, and he’s all the way down at 23.1.

There’s no reason to expect much different vs. the Bears. Their pass defense has been merely average this season, and no one has been able to stop JSN yet. He has the top projections in this matchup by a country mile, with no other non-quarterback within eight points of him. He is expected to be extremely chalky, but it’s hard to imagine building a lineup without him.

D’Andre Swift ($9,800 Flex, $14,700 Captain)

After JSN, Swift is my second favorite target in this matchup. He’s exceeded salary-based expectations in three straight games, including at least 19.0 DraftKings points in two straight.

Swift moved into a bell-cow role for the Bears with Kyle Monangai last week, playing on 86% of the snaps and handling 85% of the rushing attempts. He also had at least four targets for the third straight week, giving him a legit three-down skill set. Monagai remains out of the lineup for Chicago, so Swift should be looking at a heavy workload once again.

Unfortunately, the Seahawks represent a brutal matchup. They have an elite defense, and they’re third in the league in EPA per rush defensively. They did a phenomenal job vs. Kenneth Walker last week, so it could be tough sledding.

Still, Swift is simply too involved for the Bears’ offense to ignore at a sub-$10k price tag. He should approach 20 touches if this game stays competitive, so he’s simply too cheap.

NFL DFS Value Picks For DraftKings MNF Showdown Slate

Sam Darnold ($9,400 Flex, $14,100 Captain)

This is an interesting QB duel. On one hand, Williams has been clearly superior to Darnold so far this season. He’s racked up 300+ passing yards in back-to-back games, and he’s scored 19.5, 25.12, and 37.26 DraftKings points in the three games he’s finished. Unsurprisingly, he has the better projections than Darnold in this matchup.

However, I can’t help but lean toward the Seahawks’ passer. Not only is his team favored – which tends to bode well for fantasy purposes – but the matchup is significantly more favorable. The Bears have allowed the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks, while Seattle has allowed the second-fewest.

Add in the natural correlation with JSN and a cheaper price tag, and Darnold stands out as the superior option for me personally. You can certainly play both QBs together, but I think Darnold is the better value overall.

Colston Loveland ($7,800 Flex, $11,700 Captain)

Loveland was expected to move into the elite TE stratosphere this season, and he was routinely drafted as the third TE off the board. We know what happened next. Loveland flopped in his first two games with Williams and then struggled alongside Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum.

Fortunately, Loveland has taken off since Williams returned. He’s turned in two straight games with at least 18.5 DraftKings points, finishing as a top-four option at TE in both contests. He’s also coming off a season-high 12 targets and 38% target share last week.

Ultimately, Loveland was poised to become the Bears’ top pass catcher this season, and after a brief delay, that is starting to come to fruition. He’s another player who is simply too cheap.

DraftKings NFL DFS Picks To Differentiate Your SEA vs. CHI Showdown Lineups

Kalif Raymond ($3,600 Flex, $5,400 Captain)

Raymond started the year red-hot for Chicago, leading the team in target share through the first three weeks. That has unsurprisingly not been sustainable. He’s dipped to just an 8% target share over the past four contests, and he’s scored 3.8 DraftKings points or fewer in all four contests. That includes a bagel in his last outing.

That doesn’t inspire a ton of confidence vs. the Seahawks, who have allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to opposing receivers. However, he’s also available at his cheapest price tag since Week 3. Raymond also continues to be on the field for the vast majority of the team’s pass plays, posting a 77% route participation in Week 7. That’s a ton of opportunities for someone available at such a cheap price tag.

Tory Horton ($2,800 Flex, $4,200 Captain)

Horton has not been a big part of the Seahawks’ offense to start the year, playing behind Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, and Cooper Kupp at receiver. However, Shaheed is set to miss this contest, which opens the door for Horton to be a bigger piece of the offense.

When Horton has been on the field this season, he’s been targeted on 13% of his routes run. That’s not a bad figure. He also has some big-play potential, making him a very interesting punt play at just $2,800. We currently have him projected for just 12.6% ownership, making him one of my favorite low-owned targets in this contest.
