Fantasy Life's Utilization Game Log Report

What is the Utilization Report Game Log?

Fantasy Life’s Utilization Report Game Log is one of the pillars of the Utilization Report tool suite. With the Game Log tool, you can sort through teams to get a week-by-week view of detailed NFL player game logs with utilization statistics.

You can also sort by season, to look at individual game logs from previous seasons.

Adjusting the Filters On The Utilization Report Game Log

At the top of the Game Log table, you’ll have a set of filters that you can customize to drill down what you are looking for. These include:

  • Year: Choose the season you want to view, with the ability to go all the way back to 2020.
  • Week Range: Adjust this filter to narrow down which weeks you want to display in the game log. Weeks 1-17 represent regular-season games, while Weeks 18-22 represent playoff games.

    • Bucketing the game log into four-week segments (i.e., Weeks 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-17) is a great way to narrow down the game log to identify utilization trends.

  • Scoring System (coming soon): Adjust the scoring system so that the “score” and “scoring rank” columns in the game logs cater to the specific scoring settings you are looking for.
  • Team: Specify the team that you are looking for.

    • Only displays one team at a time, no multi-select available

  • Player: Search for a specific player’s game log to display.

    • NOTE: the player search function will only allow you to search for players who are on the team displayed in the “Team” dropdown. If you are looking for Tee Higgins, for example, but have the Bills selected, you will need to switch Bills to Bengals.

  • Position: Drill down by specific position. Similar to the Team functionality, you can only select one position at a time.

Guide to the Utilization Report Game Log

Once you have your filters squared away, you’re ready to dive into the sweet, sweet Utilization data.

When looking at a player card, you will first see two rows: Week 1-22 and Season. These are the default filters and unless you adjust the week slider, these rows of data should reflect the same data.

To view the entire game log, click “View weekly stats”. From there, you will get a week-by-week view providing the following stats

  • Week: specifies the specific week for the displayed data.
  • Snaps: the percentage of team snaps that player played in the specific week.
  • Rush Att: the percentage (or total number) of team rush attempts that player recorded.
  • Routes: the percentage (or total number) of routes the player ran that week.
  • TPRR: targets per route run rate that the player recorded that week.
  • TGTS: the target share percentage (or number of targets) the player recorded that week.
  • SDD Snaps: the percentage (or total number) of short-down-and-distance snaps the player played.
