NFL Draft Prospects to Watch in College Football Week 2: Greg Johnson & More

College Football Week 2 is here. In Week 1, prospects began to stake their claim to college football stardom and announce their arrival as legitimate prospects in the NFL. Week 2 is sure to be no different, as new names emerge to keep your eye on as we go throughout the college football season.

Whether it's on the perimeter or especially in the trenches, there's always talent to be seen. This week is highlighted by a couple of offensive linemen who will be in high demand when the NFL Draft rolls around in 2027.

Greg Johnson | OL | Minnesota

Johnson is an extremely versatile offensive lineman. He spent a season playing center and another playing guard. He has also sprinkled in starts on both sides at tackle. He has elite size as an interior offensive lineman at 6-foot-6 and 325 pounds.

He plays with exceptional power, and combined with his size, he is an elite body mover in the run game. He has heavy hands and shoots them like pistons, which helps him neutralize bull rushes in pass protection. A Week 2 match against Mississippi State will give him another opportunity to show his skills against elite SEC defensive talent.

Keyshawn Johnson | LB/EDGE | Syracuse

Johnson has great potential as a hybrid linebacker and edge. He has tremendous burst, which he uses to get off the line of scrimmage fast and put offensive tackles in peril immediately. He also uses it to flash to the flats and drop into coverage, but where it really shines is when he diagnoses the play: his ability to close on the football.

He can be effective on minimal snaps as a rotational piece, and he also provides elite special teams value. He's rangy. As they move into ACC play, he's going to get an opportunity to prove he can be effective against elite-level talent.

Anthonie Knapp | OL | Notre Dame

Anthonie Knapp has impressive natural size for the position, but what makes him such a tantalizing prospect is his athletic ability. He possesses elite foot speed that he utilizes when he needs to move, get to the second level, or reach to the outside on run plays. He's able to match the athleticism of prototypical edge rushers and meet speed with speed. It is what makes him an elite blindside protector who flashes top-notch pass-blocking mechanics.

He was excellent against NFL-caliber talent in Week 1 versus Texas A&M. He only allowed one hurry and did not surrender a sack versus the Aggies. This further solidified him as an elite NFL prospect to watch for the 2026 season.

AJ Holmes Jr. | DT | Texas Tech

Texas Tech is becoming a home for elite interior defensive linemen, and AJ Holmes Jr. may be another one on the way. At 6-foot-3 and 300 pounds, Holmes is the prototypical interior disruptor in the modern NFL.

He has an explosive first step that allows him to immediately put pressure on interior pass blockers or change the angles of the run blockers. He shifts the line of scrimmage into the negative, which makes backs stop their feet or change direction before they get going. He has heavy hands, which stop momentum, and he commands double teams from offensive schemes.

Jackson Bennee | S | Utah

Benne is a ball hawk who relies on technique, instinct and pure guile to excel in pass coverage. It's not to say that he doesn't have athleticism, because he does, but he plays the game from the neck up, and that's what allows him to have so much success. He excels in zone coverage because he has excellent anticipation, and he diagnoses plays quickly to be able to jump routes.

As an NFL prospect, finding someone who can change the math with their mind when everyone else is using their bodies gives them a decided advantage. Last week, in their 66-14 blowout over Idaho, he had four tackles, two pass breakups, and an interception.
