Week 7 Guillotine Leagues™️ ADP Risers & Fallers: Jordan Love, Germie Bernard & More
Jorge Martin examines the players rising and falling according to Guillotine Leagues ADP.
Here we are, it’s Week 7! If you got chopped in another league and want to start anew, one of the beauties of Guillotine LeaguesTM is that every week can be a new beginning. That’s because drafts are happening all season. So instead of needing 18 teams for a full-season Guillotine League, now you need just 12 teams to be playing for all the marbles in Week 17. That’s the same number as a redraft team. So now is a good time to start up another draft to keep the adrenaline pumping.
To help you out with your drafting, here are the risers and fallers in Guillotine League fantasy football ADP in the last week. And to help you with your research, check out our fantasy football rankings and fantasy football projections. We also provide Utilization Data to measure usage and often reference our DvP Tool for insight into this week’s matchup.
Week 7 Players Rising in Guillotine Leagues ADP
Jordan Love | QB | Packers | 47.2
ADP: 85.2
Somewhere, Kendall Valenzuela is smiling. She was one of the biggest advocates for drafting Love during the offseason, and it’s paying off. He has four games with 275+ passing yards and five games with 2 TD passes. He has an exciting trio of pass catchers, and this week they’re at Detroit. The Lions are the No. 1 defense for most passing yards and fantasy points per game (FPG) allowed. Wait at QB then pounce when Love is there in the eighth round.
Woody Marks | RB | +53
ADP: 71.9
Since David Montgomery got hurt in Week 5, Marks has 19 and 18 touches, respectively, in those two games. Monty is looking like he’s going to miss again this week, so if you grab Marks as your RB2 or flex play, he has a good matchup. The Giants allow 107.5 rushing yards to RBs, fourth most in the league. Marks could be one of those players who is easily dropped for a better player who gets chopped later in the season.
Germie Bernard | WR | Steelers | +121.5
ADP: 97.9
The darling of last week’s waiver wire is zooming up the ADP streets. Dwain McFarland had Bernard as having WR1 upside in this week’s Utilization Report breakdown. That happens after getting a 96% route share and 28% target share in posting a solid 11-87-1 line last week. The Saints in Paris are next on the schedule, and they just got torched by Malik Nabers for 12-165-0.
Tyler Higbee | 37.3
ADP: 143.8
It’s a battle of attrition in the Rams’ pass-catching corps. With Davante Adams set to miss 6-10 weeks, the Rams will have plenty of 13 personnel alignments, and Higbee should be the top TE until Terrance Ferguson returns from IR—not likely before Week 9. With the Raiders sixth in most FPG to TEs, Higbee could get you by until you replace him with a better TE.
Week 7 Players Falling in Guillotine Leagues ADP
Bo Nix | QB | Broncos | -52.2
ADP: 169.2
After top-10 overall QB finishes in his first two seasons, Nix is suffering from having a 107-yard day on a national stage against a great Seattle D. If you want to keep the faith that he’s going to figure it out, he could be a QB2 to follow. If he doesn’t improve, he’s one of the first cuts to make. It’s a better matchup at Arizona this week, but hard to picture selecting him as anything more than a QB2 in Guillotine Leagues.
Chase Brown | RB | Bengals | -16.5
ADP: 30.2
Topping 61 rushing yards and 22 receiving yards once each will start to wear on the confidence of Guillotine League drafters. His snap share (60%) and rush attempts (46%) hitting season lows before the Bengals’ bye, it’s understandable that drafters might want to click on another player. It’s hard to pass on a running back with pass-catching upside in the third round, so make sure you have a plan for that RB2. With Brown past his bye, he could become quite valuable should he get his previous featured role back.
Jameson Williams | QR | Lions | -27.1
ADP: 101.4
Williams does appear to be boom-bust, as he has exactly 4 targets in three of five games this season. And has surpassed 50 receiving yards once. But could he be a flex play in good matchups? Can I interest you in a home tilt against the Packers? This matchup has a game total of 53.5. That’s the highest in Week 7. The boom weeks are coming, and if you time it right they could keep you from getting chopped.
T.J. Hockenson | TE | Vikings | 21.4
ADP: 118.2
This drop may be from a combination of Hockenson leaving his last game with a concussion and the Vikings then having a bye. He’s back fully practicing, though he has yet to clear concussion protocol. If he does make it back to the field, the Colts are 15th in FPG to TEs at 10.8. Hockenson is contending with Jordan Addison as the No. 2 target for the Vikings behind Justin Jefferson.
