Week 5 Guillotine Leagues™️ ADP Risers & Fallers: Target Tyler Shough
Jorge Martin diced up players who are rising and falling in Guillotine Leagues ADP in Week 5.
It’s Week 5 of the NFL season! We made it to October! Or, maybe, some didn’t, but are looking to start again. That’s one of the beauties of Guillotine LeaguesTM is that every week can be a new beginning. That’s because drafts are happening all season. So instead of needing 18 teams for a full-season Guillotine League, now you need just 14 teams to be playing for all the marbles in Week 17. We’re almost to the size of a regular 12-team league, so rosters will start to look like your redraft rosters.
To help you out with your drafting, here are the risers and fallers in Guillotine League fantasy football ADP in the last week. And to help you with your research, check out our fantasy football rankings and fantasy football projections.
Week 5 Players Rising in Guillotine Leagues ADP
Tyler Shough | QB | Saints | +31.7
ADP: 65.5
Now that we know that cooterdoodle’s favorite team has a DUDE at QB, can we get the guy a little more protection? Monday night against the Falcons, it looked like the pass rush was caving in on him nearly every dropback. The Vikings travel to NOLA with the defense tied for the fewest fantasy points allowed to QBs at 11.5. If the Saints can keep him upright, he remains a good bet for 250+ passing yards and multiple TDs in a home matchup.
Quinshon Judkins | RB | Browns | +24.1
ADP: 32.1
Remember how we were worried not too long ago about the Browns having such a dysfunctional offense that Judkins would be scripted out of game plans and be a non-factor? Feels like a long time ago, as the 3-1 Browns have looked plenty functional. And this week they get a Jets defense that’s allowing the third-most fantasy points to RBs. They’re fresh off allowing 220 rushing yards and a pair of scores to the Bears’ RBs.
Michael Wilson | WR | Cardinals | +32.4
ADP: 64.8
Playing the Puka Nacua role that HC Mike LaFluer brought with him from the Rams, Wilson has 30 targets in the past two games and turned them into 18 catches for 184 yards and a score. He’s rising up draft boards into the fifth rounds, and this week should leave you feeling unstoppable as the Cardinals host the Lions. Detroit is second in the league for most fantasy points allowed to WRs, and this game being indoors could turn it into a track meet.
Brock Bowers | TE | Raiders | 16.4
ADP: 19.1
Looks like with 25 targets, 16 catches, for 202 yards and a pair of TDs, Bowers is BACK. His Utilization Scores in the two games were 100 and 99, respectively. This is elite WR usage. The Patriots are the toughest team against TEs (5.9 fantasy points allowed), but with this kind of role in the offense you want Bowers in your lineup. He’ll get his.
Week 5 Players Falling in Guillotine Leagues ADP
Justin Herbert | QB | Chargers | -63.8
ADP: 163.6
As stunning as it is to see Herbert going well after pick 150 in Guillotine Leagues ADP, it’s very clear that drafters have been watching the quarterback being under siege. He has yet to surpass 226 passing yards in a game, and has more interceptions (6) than touchdowns (4). Now the Broncos are coming to town? Not worth the risk of getting chopped to make Herbert your choice to risk the chopping block.
MarShawn Lloyd | RB | Packers | -71.2
ADP: 176.4
I picked up Lloyd and plan to start him in my Guillotine League as a replacement for Kenneth Walker on a bye this week. Think good thoughts for my squad. Lloyd has no more than 7 rush attempts nor 20 yards in the past three games. If he can keep showing life in the receiving game like last week (5-36-0) that would be a boost. This week facing the Bears allowing 17.4 fantasy points to RBs (No. 7), it’s hard to pick him for anything more than a bench spot that could be cut soon.
Mike Evans | WR | 49ers | -19
ADP: 78.9
Looks like drafters were watching Evans peel himself off the turf several times last week, as he played through a rib injury among other ailments he’s battled. His role in a great offense is solid (23% target share), and there is not much target competition. But on the other side is one of those defenses that makes fantasy managers say, “woah!” The Seahawks are allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to WRs (21.9) and made Brock Purdy look ordinary multiple times last season.
Kyle Pitts | TE | Falcons | -4.6
ADP: 142.9
There were signs of life on Monday night against the Saints, but ultimately Pitts caught just 3 receptions for 47 yards against a gettable defense. Meh. Before the season Pitts was seen as a player to target after the elite TEs went off the board. The ship may have sailed on that one, especially if you’re thinking of drafting and starting him against Kyle Hamilton and company on the Ravens D.
