WR Rooms That Have Question Marks For Fantasy Football

WR Rooms That Have Question Marks For Fantasy Football

In today's Fantasy Life Newsletter, presented by Hims.

We all like to think we know everything about fantasy football, but there are a few situations where we can say right now that we don't have a clue what could happen once the season starts! Of course, we can make educated guesses until training camp rolls around, but there are some wide receiver rooms that just have question marks attached to them.

We have updated projections at Fantasy Life, so let's go through who you should be targeting in drafts around these crowded groups.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Dwain McFarland, Ian Hartitz and I had a great conversation on the Fantasy Life Show about receivers who will come out on top in 2026, and when we broke down Jacksonville, it felt like this was another Packers situation where maybe a receiver could rise to the top, but more realistically it would just be a spread-out offense as shown in the projections …

Projections:

Brian Thomas Jr.: 102 targets, 59 receptions, 855 receiving yards, 6 touchdowns

Parker Washington: 98 targets, 67 receptions, 812 receiving yards, 5 touchdowns

Jakobi Meyers: 100 targets, 69 receptions, 762 receiving yards, 5 touchdowns

BTJ is the receiver going earliest on Underdog right now, but I find myself drafting Washington because the promise he showed last season did not seem like a fluke. When Travis Hunter went down in Week 7 last season we saw nine healthy games from Washington and he locked down a 79% route participation rate with a 22% target share and averaged 14.2 fantasy points.

I also don't mind taking fliers on Hunter just because of his cheapened price. There is less risk drafting someone going outside the top 140 picks on Underdog than what fantasy managers were paying for last season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

To be clear, I think the answer here is that Emeka Egbuka will come out on top of this WR group, but the projections aren't awful for Chris Godwin or Jalen McMillan.

Projections:

Emeka Egbuka: 122 targets, 73 receptions, 990 receiving yards, 7 touchdowns

Chris Godwin: 104 targets, 70 receptions, 805 receiving yards, 6 touchdowns

Jalen McMillan: 43 targets, 27 receptions, 340 receiving yards, 3 touchdowns

Ted Hurst: 40 targets, 23 receptions, 363 receiving yards, 3 touchdowns

Yes, Godwin is old but I don't mind taking him at his current price (WR42) and if he were to go down with an injury, of course Egbuka would benefit the most. But I'm not sleeping on McMillan here, either. I like Hurst, but right now I don't think he's jumping McMillan on the depth chart. Tampa Bay gave him 56% of the routes when healthy from Week 15 on last year and he has shown promise. At the end of the day, Egbuka seems like the receiver I'll have the most exposure to, but I understand why this team looks a little tricky after him.

Miami Dolphins

As Dwain likes to say "if anyone tells you they know how the Dolphins are going to look in 2026 they are lying." Honestly, yeah, that makes sense.

Projections:

Malik Washington: 75 targets, 51 receptions, 489 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns

Caleb Douglas: 73 targets, 40 receptions, 584 receiving yards, 3 touchdowns

Chris Bell: 63 targets, 38 receptions, 480 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns (in 12 games)

Bell is a talented receiver and one that I want to walk away with in a lot of dynasty rookie drafts this season. But, he's coming off of an ACL tear from December, which is more than likely going to lead to a slow start. Overall, how good is this offense really going to be? I've been taking Bell routinely in the 16th round and Washington a few times in the 17th to complete late-round stacks. Fingers crossed one of them works out!

Brock Bowers vs Trey McBride: Who’s TE1?

They’re only a few picks apart in Underdog ADP, so it may as well be a coin flip. Brock Bowers and Trey McBride both have reasons they should be the first TE off the board. And reasons the other should be picked ahead. Justin Carlucci made arguments on both sides of the aisle, and came away with a verdict on who he’s picking. Or is the answer just, YES?

If you’re into late-round TEs, Ian says look no further.

Dynasty Superflex Startup Mock Draft: Who’s QB1?

Looks like the debates won’t end at the TE position. When it comes to superflex drafts, Josh Allen is the easy No. 1 in redraft. But after just turning 30 two days ago, is it time to take a younger QB model for a test drive? Sam Wallace conducts a three-round mock draft for a superflex startup, and after the first couple picks it is far from a routine draft.⤵️
