Hello Week 8, we’re almost halfway to the fantasy championship week. How’d that happen? We’re also heavy into bye weeks, and this week that means Christian McCaffrey, Woody Marks and Cam Skattebo are sitting out. It being Halloween week, does that leave you scared? Not to worry, we’ve got you covered.

Let’s get into some streamers. As always with running backs, we’ll mine the fantasy football rankings for players outside the top 24. Make sure to check out our fantasy football projections to get further confirmation why these players are targets. Lastly, all stats versus each position group listed below are from our wonderful DvP tool and any utilization data came from our UR Score.

Running Back Streamers for Week 8

Tony Pollard | Titans at Bengals

Hey Tony, what do you do for an encore? With 155 total yards and 3 TDs, Pollard put up 35 points and was the RB1 for Week 7. Of course, that was the only time that the veteran RB has surpassed 12 fantasy points this season. An encouraging sign is that this is the fourth time in five games that Pollard has surpassed 80% rush attempts for the Titans.

Now he faces the Bengals, who just held Derrick Henry to 45 rushing yards on 17 attempts. In the three games prior, the lowest number of scrimmage yards any RB compiled was 88. With that share of the RB workload, Pollard could will his way to a decent followup to his last finish.

Blake Corum | Rams vs. Chargers

This is the role that so many fantasy managers envisioned when drafting Corum last summer. He rushed 17 times for 93 yards and a score, posting similar numbers to Kyren Williams. He had a 43-yard TD run called back because of a penalty. Corum did that on 52% of rush attempts on 43% of total snaps.

The Chargers are eighth in the league, allowing 22 FPG to running backs. In the four games before their Week 7 bye, the Chargers allowed over 100 scrimmage yards to running backs three times.

Emanuel Wilson | Seahawks vs. Bears (MNF)

This is with the caveat that Zach Charbonnet sits out another game. Since he’s less than nine months past ACL surgery—often the minimum that physicians recommend before coming back to the field—I’m just not putting much faith into Charbonnet being close enough to performing at his peak levels that it would impact other RBs in Seattle. Wilson has had the most success of the committee, just putting up 24-100-1 on the Chiefs.

The Bears have been better against the run of late—at 73.6, they’re allowing the fifth-fewest rushing yards to RBs—but because they’ve been putting up points, that will give the Seahawks opportunities to put up the points in as many ways possible. And Wilson is a good bet to lead the backfield again.
