Time To Panic On Harold Fannin & Others In Fantasy Football?

Time To Panic On Harold Fannin & Others In Fantasy Football?

We shared our concerns with guys like Travis Etienne and Cam Skattebo yesterday, but that’s nothing compared to how I feel about the three names below.

Considering their price in drafts, I’m legitimately spooked about their Utilization after Week 1

📉MarShawn Lloyd did not carpe diem

Lloyd scored only 3.7 points vs. the Vikings (13-37 on the ground) and got out-snapped (55% to 45%) by Chris Brooks. Making matters worse—the Green Bay offensive line looks like trash and it seems more likely than not that Josh Jacobs will return at some point this season.

Cope: This was his first NFL action since Sept. 15, 2024 and he’ll get more comfortable going forward. They are -3.5-point home favorites vs. the Jets this week.

😡 Harold Fannin isn’t the only show in town anymore

The target-hog days appear to be over for Fannin. All three WRs—Denzel Boston, KC Concepcion and Jerry Jeudy—had a higher target share than Fannin, and he finished with only 4.1 fantasy points vs. the Jags:

Cope: This offense is basically impossible to evaluate until they get serious and ditch Deshaun Watson. Once that happens, we can reassess what to do with Fannin.

🤮 Marvin Harrison Jr. can’t even inspire cope

Marv was basically running wind sprints out there vs. the Chargers (87% route rate vs. 9% target share). He did not run any routes from the slot, either. It’s not just Trey McBride eating his lunch, either. Kendrick Bourne and Michael Wilson both doubled up his target share and then some (23% and 20%, respectively).

Cope: I … I honestly don’t think I have any. He’s at real risk of being a “roster clogger.” Give it another week or two, but be prepared to ditch him for a rookie stash.

P.S. Add Demond Claiborne to your squads. Jordan Mason is going on short-term IR.

Freedman’s Fades: Doubling Down

OK, now it’s time for the “wet blanket” to return. Matthew Freedman has released the players he’s fading for Week 2 … and it starts with a fade from last week who had an explosive week. Right call to double down? Here are the fades.

DvP Mismatches To Target In Week 2

A two-time All-Pro WR is facing a defense that just got torched by an undrafted free agent. Who has the advantage? If you’re talking about Justin Jefferson heading into a showdown with the Bears after they just gave up 37 points to the Panthers, well, it’s a good feeling for fantasy managers who roster J-Jettas.

Tipp Major analyzed several players ready to rock in advantageous matchups, as well as a few who our DvP tool says could be in for a tough day.
