The start of NFL free agency saw many top names find new homes. However, some players still don't have a team, and if they find the right situation, they could make a positive impact on your fantasy team.

Let’s take a look at some of the top remaining options to highlight the ideal fantasy football landing spots for remaining free agents.

Ideal Fantasy Football Landing Spots For Top Remaining NFL Free Agents

Deebo Samuel | WR

After the Commanders traded for Samuel during the 2025 offseason, it looks like he’s one-and-done in Washington.

Last season, he wasn’t as productive as in previous years, averaging a career-low 10.1 yards per reception, and his 45.4 receiving yards per game were his second-lowest total.

There might be some forgiveness for this past season, considering that the Commanders didn’t have QB Jayden Daniels for most of it.

Samuel, when at his peak, is one of the more dynamic receivers in the league. He can line up anywhere on the field and be utilized as a wide receiver and running back.

The Chargers feel like a great fit to utilize Deebo’s talent. On a team with the young receiving core of Quentin Johnston and Ladd McConkey, Samuel could be a great veteran presence to replace Keenan Allen. He’ll also come in familiar with the offense, with Samuel’s former offensive coordinator in San Francisco, Mike McDaniel, now being the OC in Los Angeles. McDaniel was the one who helped Deebo to his only Pro Bowl season in 2021, where he led the league with 18.2 yards per catch.

Aaron Rodgers | QB

Rodgers will turn 43 years old during the 2026 season. Only six quarterbacks have played in the NFL past the age of 42, with Tom Brady being the only one who was his team’s starting quarterback for the whole season.

His age showed last year; his 24 passing touchdowns, 3,332 passing yards and 6.7 yards per attempt were each a career-low when playing at least 15 games.

A return to Pittsburgh seems like his best option, especially because he would reunite with his former head coach, Mike McCarthy, who is the new coach with the Steelers.

Rodgers is not a long-term solution for the Steelers, and this season will likely be his last. Bringing in the future Hall of Famer would give Pittsburgh someone familiar with McCarthy and help his transition, and it would be beneficial to have Rodgers, who already has a rapport with the team.

Tyreek Hill | WR

At the beginning of his tenure in Miami, Hill was one of the league’s top wide receivers.

He went for over 1,700 yards in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, including a league-leading 1,799 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns in 2023.

The 2024 season saw a sharp decline, marking the first time since his rookie year that he had fewer than 1,000 receiving yards while playing at least 13 games. Last season, he did not get much of a chance to rebound due to a knee injury that ended his year after four games.

He was diagnosed with a dislocated knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, which will probably prevent teams from signing him during the offseason. The expected recovery time for this type of injury is between 9 and 15 months. Because he suffered this injury in October, he could be ready for training camp or miss the 2026 season.

If he were ready to play in 2026, going back to the Chiefs feels like the best fit. Not only does he reunite with Patrick Mahomes, but he’ll also have his last offensive coordinator in Kansas City, Eric Bieniemy, who returns to that position after leaving in 2022.

Hill’s transition could be much easier thanks to the familiarity with the team and offensive scheme.

Stefon Diggs | WR

Diggs only got through the first year of a three-year deal with the Patriots before being released this offseason.

Without Diggs, New England is likely not playing in the Super Bowl, thanks to leading the team with 85 catches, 1,013 receiving yards and 356 yards after the catch. Astonishingly, he accomplished this while playing only 57.1% of snaps.

It feels like Diggs still has a lot left in the tank. He had his seventh consecutive season with 1,000 or more receiving yards when playing at least 15 games; his 4.2 yards after the catch per reception was his best since 2019, and his 2.9% drop rate was his lowest since his 2018 rookie season.

There are a few teams that could benefit from bringing in a veteran like Diggs. A reunion in Minnesota could be an option, giving either Kyler Murray (or, in the off chance he starts, J.J. McCarthy) another veteran presence, pairing him with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

Jauan Jennings | WR

Jennings had an inconsistent tenure in San Francisco. He did not see much playing time until his fourth season, when he posted career-highs of 77 catches and 975 receiving yards. The expectation for the 2025 season was that he was going to be one of the 49ers’ top receivers. That did not come to fruition.

Despite playing 15 games, Jennings finished with only 55 catches and 643 receiving yards. Brock Purdy was sidelined for most of the season due to an injury, but when he returned in Week 11, Jennings had 6 receiving touchdowns from then until the end of the season, the second-most in that span.

There are many factors surrounding Jennings’ future and the reason why he is still a free agent. One NFL agent believes the former 49ers wide receiver is asking for too much money, while a current NFL head coach said that the former seventh-round pick has “outplayed his talent.”

It seems like no team thinks of Jennings as a WR1, so his chances of getting a big contract seem slim. If he’s willing to lower his expectations, there are a few spots that could use him as a second or third option.

The Titans feel like a great destination. He has ties to the area, having attended the University of Tennessee, and is a native of the state. Additionally, new Titans head coach Robert Saleh was the 49ers’ defensive coordinator, so he is familiar with Jennings. Even if the Titans add to their wide receiver depth in the draft, Jennings could still be a productive WR3.
