Fantasy Football Rankings Risers & Fallers: Caleb Douglas Continues To Climb

Sam Wallace highlights the biggest risers and fallers in Fantasy Life's consensus fantasy football rankings for 2026.

We're already over halfway through August, and it seems like the fantasy landscape is changing by the day. Injuries are mounting, and it's becoming increasingly necessary to check the various beat reports across the league. Let's take a look at some of the biggest risers and fallers in our consensus fantasy football rankings and highlight any appropriate actions you should take.

Risers In Consensus Fantasy Football Rankings

  • Consensus Rank: WR69

A third-round pick by the Miami Dolphins this last spring, Caleb Douglas is quickly generating significant interest from both our rankers and fantasy managers. Douglas is a top-end athlete who, at 6-foot-4 and 206 pounds, boasts a 4.39-second 40-yard dash time (93rd percentile) and a 115.5 speed score (97th percentile).

For a team desperate for pass-catching playmakers, this is exactly the type of profile we should be paying attention to.

The Dolphins' receiver room projects to be one of the worst in the league. That might sound harsh but there's just so much unknown at this point. However, a wide open depth chart is exactly how someone like Douglas can quickly rise to the top and assume a WR1 role for Malik Willis.

Even our fantasy football projections aren't heavily favoring any of the presumed top-three wideouts. We have two years worth of intel on Malik Washington and fellow rookie Chris Bell is still working his way back from a knee injury.

In his first preseason game, Douglas recorded one reception for 28 yards. It's certainly nothing to write home about, but it's worth noting that he was running with the 1s and was targeted early in the game. Our rankers are beginning to adjust; you should too.

Action Item: Douglas is entering the "late-round sleeper" phase and is someone I will be prioritizing near the back-half of my draft. Another solid preseason performance will only help his case.

PIT_steelers-logo.svgRoman Wilson | WR | Steelers | +10

  • Consensus Rank: WR99

It's been a disappointing start to a once-promising career for Roman Wilson. Drafted on Day 2 by the Steelers back in 2024, injuries have limited him to just 14 games (12 total receptions/2 TDs) across two seasons.

The Steelers receiver room is led by the tandem of DK Metcalf and newly acquired Michael Pittman Jr. In addition, the team added second-round wideout Germie Bernard this past spring. That's a lot of bodies in front of Wilson. Once you include the RBs and TEs, our projections have him finishing No. 8 in PPR scoring … on his own team.

Even so, despite the underlying metrics, Wilson has begun creeping up our rankings and was even one of the most added players in dynasty fantasy football leagues just two weeks ago.

So, which version of Wilson are we going to get? For now, he's been operating as the WR3 alongside Bernard. A few more preseason games and the rest of training camp should give us more insight into how the Steelers will deploy their young wideouts.

Action Item: For now, I'm in no hurry to draft Wilson. If anything, he's fine as a last-round pick and is someone I will likely drop after Week 1 once the first waiver wire run hits.

GB_packers-logo.svgMarShawn Lloyd | RB | Packers | +7

  • Consensus Rank: RB46

Packers fans and fantasy managers have been waiting a long time for MarShawn Lloyd to do … anything. After two seasons in the NFL, Lloyd has appeared in just one game, tallying six rushing attempts for a whopping 15 yards.

However, with Emanuel Wilson now in Seattle and veteran Josh Jacobs dealing with a groin injury, the time for Lloyd to prove he's not a bust is right now.

From a team perspective, the Packers sound like they want to get him more involved. After handling just five total opportunities in his first preseason matchup, head coach Matt LaFleur mentioned wanting him to see more work this upcoming week.

After a strong training camp, there's (some) reason to be optimistic about Lloyd's chances, especially if Jacobs continues to miss valuable reps throughout the preseason.

For some historical context, Lloyd was a Day 3 (Round 3) pick back in 2024 and posted an 86th-percentile 40-yard dash to go along with a 93rd-percentile speed score. The traits and overall athletic profile are there; he simply needs to stay healthy for an entire season and make the most of the inevitable opportunities that will come his way.

Action Item: I'm cautiously watching for any additional news on Josh Jacobs, but regardless, Lloyd is someone I am fine taking swings on as I fill out my bench in redraft leagues this fall.

Fallers In Fantasy Life's Consensus Fantasy Rankings

NO_saints-logo.svgJordyn Tyson | WR | Saints | -9

  • Consensus Rank: WR38

Three-level alpha with big-play DNA and red flags.

That phrase, from our NFL Draft Big Board, is going to haunt me for a while. Hindsight is always 20/20, but man, after the latest news that Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) will miss roughly two months, it's just brutal.

Heading into the draft process, it was hard to ignore the aforementioned red flags:

  • Torn ACL, MCL, PCL
  • Fractured clavicle
  • Hamstring setbacks

In addition, Tyson had missed 17 of a possible 51 games (33%). That's not great. Even so, it was hard to ignore how dominant he was when healthy. The Saints carefully managed his reps throughout the summer but, in the end, it didn't even matter. It's just tough for a player who was so highly drafted and is super talented.

Action Item: I generally don't want to overreact, but for now, Tyson is off my draft board entirely. Not only is he going to miss actual NFL regular-season games, but I don't want to mess around with someone with a history of soft-tissue injuries.

PIT_steelers-logo.svgKaleb Johnson | RB | Steelers | -6

  • Consensus Rank: RB83

It's been quite the fall from "promising prospect" to … he might not make the final roster. For those of us who invested in Kaleb Johnson last season, the third-round RB last season, it might be time to simply pull the plug.

Despite playing in 10 games a season ago, he mustered just 28 rushing attempts for 69 yards to go along with one reception for nine yards.

Despite being listed as the RB3 for the Steelers, Johnson didn't see any preseason action until late in the third quarter of their recent outing. He was even bumped in the pecking order by veterans Travis Homer and Lew Nichols and was out-touched by fellow rookie Eli Heidenreich.

If this is any indication/confirmation about how we feel about Johnson here at Fantasy Life, he doesn't even show up in our projections for the 2026 season. It's time to move on.

Action Item: As you might have guessed, Johnson is entirely off my draft board. If a slew of injuries somehow makes its way through the Steelers locker room and/or Johnson balls out in an upcoming preseason matchup, he might be worth another look.
