Carolina Panthers Fantasy Football Team Preview For 2026

Carolina Panthers Fantasy Football Team Preview For 2026

Ian Hartitz breaks down the Carolina Panthers for fantasy football ahead of the 2026 NFL season.

The 2025 Panthers were an interesting squad. On the one hand, they won the NFC South for the first time since 2015 and held a lead over the Rams in the Wild Card round until just 38 seconds remained in the fourth quarter.

On the other hand, the squad finished below .500, boasted a brutal -69 point differential (fourth-worst mark in the NFC), and it's tough to find a meaningful advanced stat that paints any facet of the team as great.

Good news: The 2026 Panthers have a number of newcomers who look capable of helping out—particularly at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the football.

  • The defense failed to come away with a marquee EDGE in 2025 free agency, so this year they threw $120 million at former Dolphins/Eagles EDGE Jaelan Phillips. Second-round Texas Tech DT Lee Hunter and former Jaguars LB Devin Lloyd add additional playmaking to the front seven.
  • Offensive tackle received some reinforcements in the form of first-round Georgia OT Monroe Freeling and former Packers LT Rasheed Walker. Ex-Saints C Luke Fortner is expected to replace Cade Mays, who signed with the Lions in free agency.
  • Third-round Tennessee WR Chris Brazzell should challenge Xavier Legette for his starting spot, while Bryce Young's former college teammate John Metchie adds further depth to the room.

Add it all together: And the time is NOW for Bryce Young to prove once and for all that he is the right man to lead this organization for the present and future.

What follows is a fantasy-focused team preview of the Carolina Panthers ahead of the 2026 season. Make sure to check out Fantasy Life's rankings hub for updated player ranks all year long.

As always: It's a great day to be great.

Does Bryce Young *really* have a ceiling in fantasy land?

It's tough to paint too pretty a picture based on the returns through three seasons: Young worked as the QB29 (9.8 fantasy points per game) as a rookie, QB24 (13.9) in 2024 and QB25 (13.6) in 2025. There have been high-end flashes—usually against the Falcons—but it's just been tough to get too much upside out of someone who has struggled to clear even 3,000 passing yards annually.

Is Bryce Young an option in superflex leagues?

Are both Chuba Hubbard and Jonathon Brooks great Zero-RB targets?

It sure looks like Hubbard is the leader in the clubhouse to (again) assume RB1 duties after Rico Dowdle took his talents to Pittsburgh in free agency. This is also the last year of Hubbard's contract that has any guaranteed money. He should start out of the gate, meaning improved health could get the 27-year-old talent back to partying like it's 2024 again. But what if Jonathon Brooks has something to say about that?

Could there be a winner in this RB committee?

Does Tetairoa McMillan have legit high-end WR1 upside?

The 2025 NFL Draft's eighth overall pick had himself a very solid rookie season. A 70-1,014-7 receiving line is nothing to scoff at–especially considering the aforementioned mediocre QB play–and the eye test revealed a big-body beast capable of bullying corners at the catch point. He made more than a few absolutely ridiculous snags that unfortunately didn't count. By all accounts, T-Mac had a great rookie season, and there's reason to believe bigger and better things could be on the horizon for the 23-year-old talent.

T-Mac is primed for a Year 2 leap

Is there anyone in this tight end room fantasy managers should overly care about?

Not really! Canales has made a habit of rotating all parties involved when each is healthy enough to suit up.

Predictions For The 2026 Carolina Panthers

Win total prediction: The Panthers' 2026 schedule does not look pretty on paper. Thus is life for a reigning division champ, but they also didn't exactly hit the lottery with getting matched up with the loaded NFC North and very solid AFC North. There's cautious optimism for both the offense and defense to take respective steps forward, but I still wouldn't exactly blame anyone for balking at the actual upside of this team. Carolina probably won't run as hot in one-score games (7-4) this time around. Give me under 7.5 wins, albeit this is one of the bigger toss-up win totals I've haggled with thus far.

Bold fantasy call: Tetairoa McMillan stakes his claim as the best Panthers receiver since Steve Smith and registers his first of many WR1 seasons in fantasy land.

Last season predictions: OVER 6.5 wins (hell yeah, brother), and Tetairoa McMillan joins Malik Nabers, Ja'Marr Chase and Julio Jones as the only top-10 picks to return WR1 production as rookies since 2010 (WR16 overall, WR24 per game. We'll watch the film and get better).
