Cam Ward, Jeremiyah Love & More Players To Watch In Tonight's NFL Preseason Games

Full-slate football is back. We kick off tonight with a six-game slate and plenty of players to watch in tonight's NFL preseason games.

Let's separate the players into tiers and break down who the most important to watch are, especially from a fantasy perspective.

Most Important Players To Watch In Tonight's Preseason Games

Cam Ward (TEN, QB), Carnell Tate (TEN, WR)

The hands-down biggest fantasy football story tonight is Year 2, former first-overall pick Cam Ward, and 2026 first-round pick Carnell Tate. Ward showed flashes in his rookie campaign, but couldn’t fully put it together (QB22, 11.4 PPG). Look for this connection to flash on Thursday night and the hype train to officially leave the station.

Jeremiyah Love (ARI, RB)

After sitting during the Hall of Fame game, Jeremiyah Love is set to make his debut today vs the Raiders. The fourth-overall pick is one fantasy managers have been questioning all offseason, and he'll be one to keep an eye on utilization in comparison to Tyler Allgeier, Trey Benson and James Conner.

Fernando Mendoza (LV, QB), Kirk Cousins (LV, QB)

The first-overall pick and his mentor Kirk Cousins are both scheduled to play against the Cardinals tomorrow. How both look will be very important for fantasy managers, as we see how viable the QB play will be for players such as Brock Bowers, Ashton Jeanty and Jalen Nailor this upcoming season.

TreVeyon Henderson (NE, RB)

Keep an eye on the usage of TreVeyon Henderson after a hyped rookie campaign that was ultimately a letdown for fantasy managers (RB21, 12.1 PPR PPG). And pay extra attention to his usage in the passing game and how he looks in pass blocking, as early reports from camp have indicated he has struggled.

Tre Harris (LAC, WR)

Tre Harris has been one of the stars of Chargers camp this offseason, making what seems like circus catch after circus catch. Keep an eye out to see if Harris can get a firm handle on the Chargers WR3 role.

Kaleb Johnson (PIT, RB)

Kaleb Johnson was a player going in the first round of dynasty drafts this time last year, and he completed his rookie campaign with 28 carries for 69 yards (2.5 YPC). In just a year, he has become an afterthought and someone who dynasty managers are regretting. Do we get a slice of hope? Keep an eye on how much, and what type, of usage Johnson gets in this one.

Keaton Mitchell (LAC, RB)

Another name out of LA that is getting a ton of buzz from training camp is Keaton Mitchell. Offensive Coordinator Mike McDaniel famously had wanted posters of Mitchell in GM Joe Hortiz’s office during the free agency period, and his wish was granted. We have seen a multitude of clips from the Chargers' social media showing Mitchell involved in the passing game in camp, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it translates to game speed.

De'Zhaun Stribling (SF, WR)

Stribling was a widely criticized pick when it was made; however, as training camp has gone on, it has been reported that multiple teams viewed him as one of the draft's top WRs, and he has been putting on a show in 49ers camp. With health questions around Mike Evans, Ricky Pearsall out for the season and Deebo Samuel just getting integrated back into the offense. Stribling could take a quick grasp on a big role if he puts on a show during the preseason.
