Breece Hall Fantasy Football Value: 2026 and Dynasty Outlook After Contract Extension

Breece Hall just became the third-highest-paid running back in the NFL and will be a Jet for the foreseeable future. What does this mean for his fantasy football outlook? Let's dive in.

After months of trade speculation and Twitter posts, Breece Hall remains a Jet for the 2026 season.

And beyond.

The New York Jets and Hall agreed to a three-year, $45.7 million contract extension. Hall, who received the non-exclusive franchise tag back in early March, finally has his immediate future set in stone. It is interesting, given the fact that Hall has been pretty vocal regarding his frustrations with the Jets organization, but money apparently talks.

The contract extension doesn’t impact Hall a whole lot in redraft formats, though it does make you feel better that the Jets will continue to feed him the football. Last season, Hall handled 66% of the Jets’ rush attempts, while logging 64% of the snaps and 62% of the two-minute snaps. His 243 carries ranked 11th in the NFL, while averaging a healthy 17.4 touches per game. Overall, his fantasy production once again underwhelmed, largely due to the New York offense being consistently inept. Here is where the Jets have ranked in percentage of drives ending with a touchdown since 2023:

  • 2023: 32nd (9%)
  • 2024: 13th (23%)
  • 2025: 29th (14%)

You can thank Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams for that outlier 2024 campaign. As a result, Hall has ranked 35th among all running backs in goal-to-go carries during that span (29), averaging an ugly 0.3 carries from inside the five-yard line per game. The Jets can give Hall all the money he deserves, but until this offense can sustain more drives, he’s always going to have a limited fantasy ceiling. And that’s a shame because Hall is still a very good player! Among running backs with at least 200 carries since 2023, Hall ranks 15th in YAC per rush (3.15) and seventh in avoided tackles. Unfortunately, he is scoring a rushing touchdown every 48 carries, one of the ten-worst rates among qualified rushers during that stretch.

During the offseason, the Jets made improvements to the offense. They acquired Geno Smith to play quarterback, while adding Kenyon Sadiq and Omar Cooper during the draft. If those moves are enough to vault the Jets offense from 30th to even 20-24th, that could be a win for Hall. You’d struggle to build a more complete running back than Hall, who has size, speed, tackle-breaking ability and pass-catching prowess to post awesome numbers. We just need the offense to show some signs of improvement to maximize his potential.

Hall currently checks in at RB16 in our fantasy football rankings

The hope is that the Jets offense finally gets it together this season. And dynasty managers may view Hall staying in New York as a potential doom scenario. But even if the Jets are once again god-awful in 2026, there is hope on the horizon.

The 2027 draft class is coming.

After multiple trades, the Jets hold three first-round picks in a 2027 draft class that should give us multiple very strong quarterback prospects. Regardless, the Jets will be adding one of those players, hopefully finally awakening this dormant offense from its long-lasting slumber. It’s possible teams with Hall may have to endure one more underwhelming season before the turnaround in New York.

Hall doesn’t even turn 25 years old until the end of the month, and now has a solidified contract, making him the league’s third-highest-paid running back based on average annual salary. Hall currently sits as the RB18 in our dynasty fantasy football rankings.
