Dynasty Fantasy Football Risers And Fallers: Is It Getting Crowded For RJ Harvey?
Sam Wallace analyzes four players who are either rising up or falling down the dynasty fantasy football rankings.
The fallout from the NFL Draft is very real. For every highly drafted player who gets that big opportunity to start for their new team, there's an incumbent player who's now fighting for a job. And there are even some players drafted much lower or even UDFAs who could be pushing for snaps both in training camp and eventually during the games. But for now, we're going by the information we have, and that's causing some players to rise and fall in the dynasty rankings.Â
Dynasty Fantasy Football Risers
Ty Simpson | QB | Rams
It might have been a reach by most metrics, but we can't ignore the fact that the Rams spent a first-round pick on Ty Simpson. Even if he doesn't see the field this season (which would be the best-case scenario), dynasty fantasy football managers are taking notice of Simpson's draft pick and reacting accordingly.
We always knew the Rams would have to start thinking about life after Matthew Stafford, but I don't know if anyone expected it to happen this year. The team is still firmly in a win-now window and plays in one of the most competitive divisions in the league.
As an aside, that's part of what makes the Simpson pick so puzzling. In the twilight of Stafford's career, they spent a first-round pick on someone who they hope never sees the field this year (or next). They could have drafted someone who could make an impact right away. If they wanted Simpson so badly, they probably could have waited and still gotten him.
Simpson has plenty of question marks as a prospect. Even so, we have to give the benefit of the doubt to the Rams front office and their coaching staff. It's no secret that Sean McVay is a gifted coach and offensive playcaller. We shouldn't have many reservations about Simpson not getting every chance to be successful should he ever step onto the field in a meaningful game.
For dynasty managers, they need to decide how soon to pull the trigger on Simpson in their upcoming rookie drafts. In a 1QB format, he's a Round 2 prospect, but in superflex formats, there's a case to be made for taking him in the middle of Round 1.
Eli Stowers | TE | Eagles
One offense I am super interested to follow over the next few seasons is the Eagles. They've been a scoring machine for a few years now and figure to be near the top of the league again this season. However, some big changes could be coming as soon as next month.
The Eagles added Makai Lemon and Eli Stowers to their offense last month. Following the news, contract situations, and general buzz around the team, it sounds like A.J. Brown could be dealt post-June 1, which explains the Lemon pick. As for Stowers, he'll likely spend his first season backing up Dallas Goedert, who is on the last year of his contract.
Stowers isn't someone fantasy managers should expect much from in Year 1. Our projections are in line with that as well:

However, as mentioned, this could be Goedert's last season. The Eagles will likely get as much as they can out of Goedert this season, but don't be surprised if Stowers doesn't see some level of involvement as the season goes on.
Also, not that I buy into the notion of TE handcuffs, but we have plenty of historical data that shows us the Eagles know how to effectively use the TE position. It may not happen right away, but the stars are aligning for Stowers to have a long, successful career in Philadelphia.
Dynasty Fantasy Football Fallers
RJ Harvey | RB | Broncos
The Denver Broncos profiled as one of the worst landing spots for a rookie RB, so of course they went and snagged Jonah Coleman in Round 4. Coleman, who slotted in as the RB3 in our Rookie RB Model, will likely open the season as the third option behind both J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey.
There are a range of opinions on Coleman, who played well for three seasons before suffering a PCL injury last year. Regardless of your thoughts on him, Coleman is a talented young player who is going to make his way onto the field sooner rather than later.
The presence of Dobbins isn't a huge deterrent, but he still managed 153 rushing attempts and 772 rushing yards over 10 games last season. The team still values him, as demonstrated by the two-year, $16M contract they just gave him. He may have quite the injury history, but he was still vastly more efficient than Harvey in 2025.
As for Harvey, he was an older rookie (24) and only mustered 3.7 YPC on 146 rushing attempts across 17 games. He did tally 47 receptions, so there's certainly some intrigue in the passing game. But his dynasty value isn't going to hold water for too much longer.
While our projections have this being essentially a two-man backfield in 2026, I would be shocked if Coleman isn't more involved than what we are projecting right now:

At worst, Dobbins is the clear 1A over Harvey and Coleman does a lot of things well that coaches really appreciate—he pass-blocks well and doesn't fumble. Already 25 and in just his second season, Harvey is going to be a tricky asset to value in the weeks and months ahead. I would have no problem looking to trade away Harvey before we get into the heart of offseason workouts and training camps.
Terrance Ferguson | TE | Rams
If there's one position the Rams don't mind being flush with, it's TEs.
Heading into this season, you can find reasons to be optimistic about Tyler Higbee, Colby Parkinson, Terrance Ferguson and now Max Klare. So, what does this mean for dynasty managers?
The Rams spent a second-round pick on Klare, who spent three seasons with Purdue before playing out his fourth season with Ohio State. His best statistical year came in 2024 with Purdue, when he tallied 51 receptions for 685 yards and 4 TDs.
In our Rookie TE Model, Klare came in at No. 3 (72), right behind Stowers (73), with Kenyon Sadiq finishing as the TE1 at 84. For some context, he's right in line with Ferguson, whom the Rams drafted in the second round last year. However, the arrival of Klare, coupled with the two-year extension that Higbee just received, could suppress Ferguson's value for the time being.
The Rams will likely run more 13-personnel than anyone else in the league so there's likely some value to be had across various options in this TE room. Even so, it's hard to feel overly optimistic about Ferguson given everything that's happened.
