Week 2 DraftKings NFL DFS Picks: Target Breece Hall, Eagles Stack, and More

We’re on to Week 2 of the NFL season, and with TNF over, that means it's time to switch your focus to daily fantasy lineup building and taking a shot at some of those huge prize pools available every week in the DFS streets on DraftKings.

I’ll be breaking down my favorite plays and stacks here every week while also highlighting a few GPP-only and “min-priced” plays that I think offer great 5x blowup potential—at really low ownership. 

These plays and salaries will be specific to DraftKings and their salary cap contests.

However, since we’re also relying on the FantasyLife+ projections, tools, and advice, the specific game matchups and correlations (aka game stacks) are things you can apply to lineup building across the DFS industry.

⚡ Breece Lightning

The Bills allowed 9.4 ypc and a pair of rushing TDs to Derrick Henry in Week 1, and via RBSDM.com’s EPA per play stats, ranked 31st in EPA per play vs the rush. Enter Breece Hall, their Week 2 opponent, who doesn’t figure to allow for a quick reprieve.

Hall took 21 touches vs the Steelers in Week 1, racking up 107 rush yards (5.6 ypc) and 38 yards receiving for the day. For his career, he’s relished playing Buffalo, and comes into this week having averaged 6.4 YPC and 33.5 receiving yards per game vs the Bills. With DraftKings' full PPR scoring, his chances of landing a 5-6x return look better than almost any other elite RB on the slate. 

From a game-script standpoint, if Hall does go nuclear, it’s almost certain that we’ll see Josh Allen have to drop back 35+ times again. That’s bad news for New York, which just allowed four TDs to 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers and looked lost in coverage (outside of Sauce Gardner). 

Stacking a receiver alongside Allen is tricky, but even with semi-questionable usage vs Baltimore, I still like the upside for TE Dalton Kincaid in this spot. New York allowed two TDs to TEs vs the Steelers, and for his career, Kincaid has brought in six receptions in two of his four games vs the Jets. 

An Allen-Kincaid stack should also provide great leverage in bigger fields, as most will look to combine Allen with one of his WRs, whom he connected with for big games last week.

📖  A.J. Brown Appreciation Week   

The Chiefs secondary got roasted in Week 1. Justin Herbert threw three TDs, all of which went to his WRs, and they ended the week dead last in success rate vs the pass. That’s #notgreatBob, especially when you’ve got one of the most well-read, Alpha WRs coming into KC this week in A.J. Brown. 

Brown is coming off a terrible Week 1 (one catch for eight yards), but for DFS, you should be viewing that slow Week 1 as a gift. Not only is Brown’s salary down to the mid-6k level on DraftKings, but his sentiment is so low that his ownership is likely to remain suppressed in big GPPs for Week 2 as well.

There are a ton of ways to stack this game this week, but if you’re using Brown, pairing him with QB Jalen Hurts is your best way to start. The two could easily account for all the TDs (rushing and passing) for their team, and when you factor in an Eagles defense that ranked 32nd in success rate versus the rush last week, it’s also possible that we’ll also see a more pass-heavy game script from Philadelphia than usual. 

In terms of other names from this game to stack around Hurts-Brown, DeVonta Smith ($5,600) and Hollywood Brown ($5,200) are both great options (Smith more so if you’re using Hurts). 

Kareem Hunt ($4,500) and JuJu Smith-Schuster ($4,000) also profile as great contrarian or low-owned targets to help differentiate any lineup looking to get in four-plus players from this game. 

😤 Steelers Triple Stack - Part Deux

Aaron Rodgers ($5,500) – DK Metcalf ($5,900) – Calvin Austin ($4,700)

Quick Notes:

  • The Seahawks will be without starting slot corner Devon Witherspoon and safety Nick Emmanwori
  • CB Riq Woolen had the third-lowest PFF grade of any starting CB graded in Week 1 and should be matched up with DK Metcalf (Revenge Game!)
  • Calvin Austin took the most slot snaps of any Pittsburgh WR in Week 1, and averaged 17.5 YPR
  • The Steelers ranked just 28th in EPA per play vs rush and 27th in Success Rate vs the Rush

Week 2 NFL DFS Value Picks On DraftKings

I don’t even view Cedric Tillman as a punt play or boom-or-bust option, but his salary is so low I included him here anyway. He tied Jerry Jeudy in overall target share (20% - eight targets) in Week 1 and is likely to draw secondary coverage vs a Ravens defense that will be focused on shutting Jeudy down after he slighted their coverage unit this week. 

Tyquan Thornton is yet another name to consider when targeting the Chiefs vs Eagles for DFS. He led the Chiefs with a 41% air yards share in Week 1 and certainly has 40+ yards TD potential.

Kavontae Turpin is playing a Giants defense that just allowed another RB/WR hybrid player—Deebo Samuel—to run all over them in Week 1. With a weaker backfield and the need to create more explosive plays, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Dallas looks to up his touch count in Week 2.
