NFL DFS Value Plays For Week 6: Dameon Pierce A Worthy RB Punt
Jason Cohen breaks down the best value plays to target on Week 6's main Sunday slate.
We are on to Week 6 of the NFL season. We get 10 games to break down for the Sunday DFS main slates on DraftKings and FanDuel. I'm going to be breaking down the top NFL DFS value plays on the slates. Players that are not only in great spots, but will allow you to build out the rest of your lineup with spend-ups! Almost every week, with injuries or some mispricing, there are cheap value plays that project very well and are even cash game staples for that week. We’ve got some very enticing value pieces for us this week; let's get into it!
DraftKings and FanDuel NFL DFS Week 6 Value Plays
Tyler Huntley - BAL QB ($4700 DraftKings, $6800 FanDuel)
Starting this week's value plays is Tyler Huntley. A long-time NFL backup and Lamar Jackson's injury beneficiary the past two seasons, Huntley has become known as one of the better backup QBs in the NFL. Lamar went down towards the end of Week 4, and Huntley was given the start in Week 5. He had a very efficient 200-yard and 2-TD game, as well as adding 20 rushing yards and a rushing TD. Huntely's ability to use his legs gives his floor a nice boost, and they draw a good matchup vs. the Browns. Huntley is definitely worth a look here.
Xavier Worthy - KC WR ($4600 DraftKings, $6100 FanDuel)
Value at WR is thin, but Xavier Worthy looks to be a good option. Projected as a top point-per-dollar receiver on both sites, Worthy will likely find himself in a good share of lineups this weekend. He is a great cash play, and definitely still playable in GPPs. He has been super involved, getting targeted 6+ times in 3 of the Chiefs' first 4 games. The Chiefs love to be creative to get players involved, and Worthy is among the team's top priorities. He looks good. A super safe value.
Dameon Pierce - PHI RB ($5100 DraftKings, $5300 FanDuel)
Next, we get a value running back out of Philly. Will Shipley went out in the first half of last week's contest vs. the Jags, and Dameon Pierce came in to take over the RB1 role. With Saquon Barkley and Shipley out for this week, Pierce will remain as the Eagles' top option in the backfield. Pierce is a trusted veteran in the league, and the Eagles will have no issues getting him very involved here. Jaydon Blue and Carson Steele are projected behind Pierce, but should not see the field much.
Charlie Kolar - LAC TE ($2500 DraftKings)
A DraftKings-only play, Charlie Kolar is viable salary relief at the TE position. Coming in at the minimum price, Kolar looks to be a great point-per-dollar play. He has been on the field a ton, playing 75% of the team's snaps in Week 5. He was targeted 4 times and had 3 receptions for 37 yards. The Chargers have a competitive TE room, but Kolar being on the field as much as he is shows the trust the team has in him. Kolar has been productive in his NFL career when on the field, and I'd like that to continue here. He's definitely worth a look as he opens up a ton of salary elsewhere.
Rhamondre Stevenson - NE RB ($6,000 DraftKings, $6,300 FanDuel)
Barely cheap enough to be considered a value play, we are going to end off with Rhamondre Stevenson. TreVeyon Henderson is out here, which enables Rhamondre to be a bellcow back here vs. the Jets. Whenever one of the two is out, the other takes on a much bigger role. Stevenson has been great the last two weeks in this role, with over 17 fantasy points in each game. He is a great option here in the mid-range; he's simply too cheap.
Week 6's first look gives us our thinnest value room we've had thus far this season. There is not a ton of concrete injury news as of now. Watch as we get close to lock, as players may get ruled out and more value may open up. This means that builds this week will likely end up more balanced than we've seen so far, which I personally enjoy. It has been a lot of stars-and-scrubs builds to start the season. Good luck, and let's all have a successful DFS weekend!
