DraftKings NFL DFS Week 1 Pricing First Look: Garrett Wilson Highlights Underpriced Salaries

Joe Metz breaks down high-level thoughts and underpriced players after DraftKings released its early Week 1 DFS pricing.

If you were looking for a sign that football is around the corner, look no further. DraftKings NFL DFS Week 1 pricing has been released.

Sure, kickoff for the Week 1 Sunday main slate is six weeks away, but where's the fun in waiting? Let's dive into the pricing and some underpriced standouts at each position.

DraftKings NFL DFS Week 1 Pricing Overview

The top-11 priced FLEX players for the slate are shown below, and a few things stand out.

First, there is not a single player more than $8,000. Week 1 typically brings lower prices and more flexible roster construction, but this is still a surprise. Building around 2+ studs with slate-breaking upside won't require you to dumpster-dive nearly as deep as you would toward the end of last season, when we routinely saw guys like Christian McCaffrey, Jahmyr Gibbs and Ja'Marr Chase clearing $8,500.

Following in the footsteps of the NFL itself, seven of the top-11 priced players are running backs, even on a full-PPR site. We've seen a resurgence at the RB position based on how NFL defenses are adjusting, and fantasy football ADPs and DFS prices are reacting accordingly.

The most surprising name to see as a top-10 player in terms of DraftKings salary? Nico Collins ($7,000). Collins certainly has ceiling, but is the WR1 in a run-heavy offense with questionable QB play, a subpar offensive line and an elite defense. A Week 1 matchup with Buffalo may force the Texans to air it out more, but I'd much rather save money and opt for guys like DeVonta Smith ($6,600), Drake London ($6,500—criminally underpriced) or Emeka Egbuka ($6,200).

Underpriced DraftKings NFL DFS Week 1 Salaries To Target

A lot will obviously change between now and the second week of September, but let's highlight one underpriced player per position based on initial pricing as we forge through training camps.

MIN_vikings-logo.svgKyler Murray | QB | MIN (vs. GB) - $5,500

The Packers defense is no joke ... when operating at full health with Micah Parsons on the field. After an ACL tear prematurely ended Parsons' season in Week 14, the Packers defense simply wasn't the same:

 With ParsonsWithout Parsons
Pass Yds Allowed/Game186.5 (6th)212.4 (16th)
Yds/Attempt Allowed6.2 (2nd)7.0 (15th)
Sacks/Game2.67 (10th)0.80 (32nd)

While Parsons' rehab has reportedly gone without a hiccup, he's still not expected to return to the Packers lineup until mid-season at the earliest. This renders them a very susceptible defensive unit to open the season, as they allowed over 28 points per game with Parsons out.

We haven't seen the high-end QB1 version of Kyler Murray since the 2024 season, but in a Kevin O'Connell-led offense with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison as primary targets, it should be hard for him to fail in a spot like this. Add in expected production on the ground and all of a sudden Murray stands out as a nice value at the QB position in Week 1.

DET_lions-logo.svgJahmyr Gibbs | RB | DET (vs. NO) - $8,000

Sometimes a price tag is so bad that you can safely identify chalk six weeks in advance, like with Jahmyr Gibbs at $8,000.

Over the last eight games last season, Gibbs was priced at $8,000 only once, with an average salary of roughly $8,400:

  • Week 18 ($8,800) - 20.3 DKP
  • Week 17 ($8,300) - 7.4 DKP
  • Week 16 ($8,500) - 22.8 DKP
  • Week 15 ($8,800) - 9.8 DKP
  • Week 14 ($8,600) - 37.0 DKP
  • Week 13 ($8,800) - 11.6 DKP
  • Week 12 ($8,300) - 58.4 DKP
  • Week 11 ($8,200) - 22.6 DKP

And with David Montgomery in Houston and Isiah Pacheco as the incumbent RB2 (for now), we likely see Gibbs maintain the massive workload we saw to close out the 2025 campaign, especially with murmurs of Sione Vaki involvement in the RB2 race. This alone signals, to me, that the RB2 will have far less presence in this offense than when Montgomery was in the picture.

In an up-tempo matchup against the Saints, we should see Detroit put plenty of points on the board, starting with an underpriced Gibbs.

NYJ_jets-logo.svgGarrett Wilson | WR | NYJ (@ TEN) - $5,800

Yes, it's a Jet, but $5,800 for a wide receiver of Garrett Wilson's talent profile in an improved offense and a plus matchup jumps off the page.

Wilson was limited to just seven games last season and, despite brutal quarterback play, he still posted elite target-earning numbers. Through Week 5, Wilson posted an absurd 32% target share, 23% targets per route run, 45% air yard share and 18.6 PPR points per game, good for the WR5 overall.

Going into 2026 healthy and with an upgrade at QB (yes, Geno Smith is an upgrade), Wilson is set to assume his WR1 role in the offense after ranking No. 2 among all WRs last season in target share (34%). He should be the priority target for Smith, despite added competition (Omar Cooper, Kenyon Sadiq), against a Titans defense in Week 1 that allowed the 10th-most passing yards per game in 2025 (230.5).

CLE_browns-logo.svgHarold Fannin Jr. | TE | CLE (@ JAX) - $4,200

Tight end is often a position to save some dollars in your DraftKings lineup if you aren't paying all the way up for the Tier 1 guys in Brock Bowers ($6,900) and Trey McBride ($6,800). Luckily for us, Harold Fannin Jr. is over $2,500 less expensive but still offers elite upside in full-PPR scoring.

The Browns are obviously an uninspiring offense, but Fannin showed last season that it doesn't matter. Between Weeks 7 and 16, he ranked as the TE6 (12.8 points per game) with a 27% target share on 24% targets per route run. While QB play is still a massive pain point and there's been added target competition in KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, the removal of David Njoku clears the path for a full-time role in an offense under a coach—Todd Monken—who used 12-personnel at the second-highest rate in 2025 (34%).

A game against the Jaguars almost guarantees a trailing game script, which should lead to higher pass volume to open the season for the Browns, and I expect it to flow through Fannin.
