DraftKings NFL DFS Picks For Packers vs. Cowboys Showdown Slate
Jason Cohen examines the DraftKings Sunday Night Football Packers vs. Cowboys Showdown Slate for Week 6, identifying the best captain picks, flex picks and more.
We’re ending our weekend with a SNF contest between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys. The Packers are home and currently 1.5-point favorites in a 52.5-point total. This has the potential for a shootout and projects to be an exciting game to end the slate.
I'm going to be breaking down the DraftKings DFS showdown for this game. First, I'll highlight some players I want to target in the captain spot, who get a 1.5x fantasy-point boost. I want to target high-upside players here, and the lower the ownership, the better. I will then break down some flex position plays that I like to round out your lineups. Let's dive into it!
DraftKings Week 6 DFS Packers vs. Cowboys Captain Picks
Jordan Love | QB | GB ($14,100)
Projecting as the slate's most optimal captain, Jordan Love looks like the preferred captain pick for cash games. He is the best point-per-dollar play of the spend-ups, which we are looking for in a cash game captain. Love has had a pretty strong start to the year, passing for over 300 yards in three of five games, with two passing TDs in each game this season. He's got good pass catchers to pair with him, both in the mid-range and some value options. He looks very safe.
Christian Watson | WR | GB ($13,500)
Next, I'm going to mention Christian Watson. The Packers receiver is the team's No. 1 option. It is a crowded room, but Watson has the highest floor and ceiling. He's already had some big performances to start the year and is coming off of a six-reception, 143-yard performance with two TDs last week vs. the Bears. In GPPs I like getting to captain Watson over Love. This is because of Watson's ceiling, as well as lower ownership compared to Love. Watson looks like a great GPP captain option.
CeeDee Lamb | WR | DAL ($16,200)
With the way salaries are, I think we could get CeeDee Lamb at lower ownership than he should be here. The Packers are priced much cheaper than the Cowboys, so that's where people will be going. I like getting a little different with a Cowboy in the captain. This is projected to be a high-scoring, close game, with Dallas being underdogs here. This looks like a smash spot for Lamb. There is also pretty good value on this slate, making getting to CeeDee look even better.
DraftKings SNF DFS Packers vs. Cowboys Flex Picks
Dak Prescott | QB | DAL ($10,400)
To start off flex plays, I'm going to mention Dak Prescott. He is, in my opinion, a near lock in the flex. I prefer to get to one of his receivers in the captain, as Dak doesn't provide rushing upside, and getting to multiple Cowboys receivers is difficult. But he looks great in the flex. Value is good, and getting to one of them leaves the salary to easily get to Dak here. He’s got a great floor and is a good projected play here. An easy flex click.
Brandon Aubrey | K | DAL ($5,200)
This showdown is setting up for stars and scrubs, but Brandon Aubrey looks like a great filler in the mid-range. We’re getting him $200 cheaper than normal, which doesn't seem like much, but it does make a difference. Aubrey is the most trusted kicker in the NFL—he has had 3+ field goals in 3 of the 5 games so far this season. He has a ceiling higher than most kickers, which always puts him in play for GPPs.
Pierre Strong Jr. | RB | GB ($3,000)
The best projecting value play on the showdown, Pierre Strong is going to round out my flex plays. Strong got his first action of the season last week against the Bears and put together a respectable fantasy performance in limited touches. He only had five rush attempts, but being known as a pass-catching back, he brought in three receptions for 11 yards. This involvement in the pass game gives him a floor that makes him stand out as the highest-projecting play at the bottom. Bo Melton ($2800) also stands out as a good value play. He has a higher ceiling than strong, but a lower floor. I like taking a shot on Melton, who posted three receptions for 20 yards last week.
