Justin Carlucci breaks down the Week 2 New Orleans Saints vs. Baltimore Ravens matchup from a betting perspective with predictions, picks, and prop bets.

The Saints head to Baltimore after a heartbreaking, back-and-forth loss to Detroit in Week 1. New Orleans showed it can compete, but now it gets a Ravens team coming off an emphatic opening-day win and laying more than a touchdown at home.

New Orleans Saints vs. Baltimore Ravens Betting Odds for Week 2

Spread: Ravens -8.5 (-105), DraftKings
Moneyline: Ravens -395; Saints +310
Game Total: Over 46.5 (-118), Under 46.5 (-102)

Baltimore is a massive home favorite for good reason. The Ravens dismantled the Colts in Week 1, winning 41-23 behind another strong performance from Lamar Jackson and an offense that looked comfortable in Declan Doyle’s new system.

The Ravens ranked fourth in EPA per play after one week, while New Orleans sat 17th. Of course, it is one game. Baltimore also drew Daniel Jones in his first meaningful action since last year’s season-ending injury, so we do not need to crown the Ravens just yet.

Still, the early returns were impressive.

Baltimore’s defense finished with the third-best EPA per pass allowed in Week 1, while the Saints ranked 18th in that category. The Ravens have the better quarterback, the more proven overall roster, and the benefit of playing at M&T Bank Stadium.

New Orleans deserves some respect after pushing Detroit in a 31-30 game that was 7-0 Detroit at halftime before exploding in the second half. But the Saints are walking into a tougher spot this time around.

Prediction & Pick for Saints vs. Ravens Week 2 Matchup

The Pick: Ravens -8.5 (-105, DraftKings)

Eight and a half points is a big number. There is no way around it.

New Orleans showed real fight against Detroit, and the Saints have enough offensive talent to make things uncomfortable if Tyler Shough plays clean football. Chris Olave is still capable of taking over a game. Travis Etienne gives them some juice in the backfield. Juwan Johnson remains a viable red-zone weapon.

But Baltimore is simply the better team, and I think the Ravens can separate at home.

The biggest reason is the quarterback gap. Lamar Jackson looked free, decisive, and comfortable in Week 1. Baltimore moved the ball efficiently, created explosive plays, and showed that the offense can function at a high level under Doyle. Derrick Henry remains a nightmare to tackle, and the Ravens have veteran options in Mark Andrews, Rashod Bateman, and potentially Zay Flowers if his hamstring allows him to play.

New Orleans’ defense is the concern. I had questions about Detroit’s defense entering last week, and the Saints were able to take advantage once the game opened up. Baltimore hasn’t exactly had a gauntlet of a defense in recent years, but last week was an encouraging sign. At a minimum, I think they’ll offer a bit more resistance than the Lions did.

The Saints could absolutely hang around early. But over four quarters, I trust Baltimore’s defense to get just enough key stops and its offense to generate enough high-leverage scoring opportunities to pull away.

Give me Ravens -8.5.

Best Player Prop Bet for Saints vs. Ravens

Mark Andrews Anytime Touchdown (+125, DraftKings)

Sportsbooks have been cautious with Ravens receiving props as Zay Flowers’ status remains uncertain. But once the anytime-touchdown numbers arrive, Mark Andrews will be one of my favorite options.

Andrews did not score in Week 1, but his usage was extremely encouraging. He played on more than 80% of Baltimore’s passing snaps and was on the field for all four snaps inside the five-yard line. The only other Raven who matched that 100% inside-the-five rate was Derrick Henry.

Andrews also played six of Baltimore’s eight snaps inside the 10-yard line.

That is exactly what we want. Henry and Jackson will always command respect near the goal line, but Andrews is the proven receiving mismatch in the red zone. With Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar no longer competing for tight end opportunities, Andrews has an even cleaner path to high-value targets.

When we get plus money on Andrews to score, I’m grabbing it.
